The ceiling in our room was a mess. You could see multiple pieces of drywall that looked nailed in place but never taped and blended. Room was 506. Bed linens were rough, towels paper thin and the toilet paper more like something you might find at a cheap hotel.
We were fairly impressed by the hotel itself. The “suite” room was large, very clean and had nice amenities. It appears very new and has an Aloft feel about it.
Reception however was very disappointing as they could not find my Expedia reservation even after giving them my email confirmation with all the info. The young and patronizing woman had to call her manager and we had to wait 10 minutes for him (via phone) to find it. Really?! She went on to explain, like I was an idiot that Expedia was a third party provider and that this happens all the time. I use Expedia to travel all over the world and have never had an issue much less asked to “go over there and wait” while she waits to hear back from him. Maybe offer your guests water? Something! I suspect the hotel has many students from the hospitality school and that’s fine, but they have a LOT to learn about how to treat guests. It was a terrible “welcome” to the hotel.
