terrible experiencePosted Jan 26, 2016
Cons: Hotel staff problem solving and problem resolution. Put mirrors at proper heights. Bigger pool. Water pressure to sink. Larger water heaters.
The first thing that happens when we go to check in is that we find that we've been booked for 2 rooms instead of the one. The front desk attendant tells us all the problems she'd had all day with 3rd party booking sites messing up, and then tells us that she does not have the authority to cancel the other room. Long story short after about 20 minutes of hassle and numerous phone calls we finally got our room key. We get to our room and find that we had to have the cable reprogrammed...( another 20 min.). Went clear over to the pool to find it not worth even swimming because it became crowded with only a few people in it, being so small. Wake up the next morning to shave and find that I have to do the splits to even see myself in the mirror because it was installed way too low...( I'm barely 6'0) There was barely any water pressure to the sink, and ended up taking a shower in luke warm water. I hated every part of my experience especially knowing I paid $XX.XX for it. The night before we spent just $30 more and had the experience of a lifetime at a way nicer hotel. Bottom line... don't waste your money here and spend just a little more for a proper overnight stay.

Bad choicePosted Jan 18, 2016
Pros: rooms were OK
Cons: customer service... the PRICE, their breakfast.
Location: we went skiing at Sundown & was a good location from mountain ( as many other hotels would of been to )
I had purchased this hotel for a certain price, with the pay later option. Saw the total at my check out & said " no surprises here". Upon check in a see the total for much more. She said, there was nothing they could do b/c I payed with a third party. I told her just to refund may card & enter the right amount. She said she couldn't and to take it up with Expedia. ( I am still emailing back and forth with them ). There is no hot tub, the pool is small and chilly. My boys were there and brought a ball in. Within 5 minutes a guy comes in and says ' no balls aloud!! '. Wow, what else to do in a tiny little pool. The rooms are fine, beds comfy, little fridge and microwave. Breakfast is a JOKE. If a hot full breakfast means a waffle maker, banana & toast, then they had it covered. It's over at 9:30 am. We came down at 8:50. There were no spoons, plates, fruit, bread. There was a waffle maker, raisin bran and plain oatmeal however. I wish we could have stayed anywhere else for the price I ended up paying & had a much nicer experience. Never again here!

Decent place to stay.Posted Dec 20, 2015
Pros: Motel is clean. Lots of security camera's in use. Centrally located near the colleges.
Cons: Some repairs that could have been done better. Shower head leaves a lot to be desired. More like a garden hose then a shower.
Location: Seems to be centrally located to most things including the colleges. Seems to be several places to shop nearby as well as gas stations.
Stayed for business, had a wedding to perform. Staff was decent however insisted on a cash deposit for the room because I choose not to use my credit card. That would have been nice to know in advance. Room was acceptable, TV worked properly and has a microwave, refrigerator, iron and ironing board. The included breakfast was: eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, waffles, cereal, juice, milk and coffee.

horrible experiencePosted Dec 19, 2015
The pool was closed for maintenance the weekend before Christmas. No notification to me about this. I would have booked another hotel had I known. No compensation for the fact if was closed. The fitness room had no lights or heat and the sauna did not work. Our room was non smoking but smelled terrible. The beds were completely uncomfortable. I travel to Dubuque often to visit family and will absolutely not be staying at this hotel again!!! My kids were completely disappointed and it just made the whole weekend a disappointment!

Room was fine but the remote was funkyPosted Oct 30, 2015 on Hotels
Breakfast was mostly starches along with some fruit and yogurt. Not much for gluten free. Room was clean. Did not try the work out room. Worst part of the stay was the TV remote. You could not go directly to many if not most channels because they were something like 54.23.

Old Hotel that is past it's primePosted Oct 29, 2015 on Hotels
This is an old hotel that needs to be remodeled. The carpet was dirty and lights and room fixtures were broken or about to break. Hair drier was broken and they didn't have a replacememt. You can tell hotel management cut corners to save money. All repairs made to the room where shoddy and very obvious. Hotel staff was nice and friendly. Pool was small but clean.
