Given that this is an Excellence, and more expensive than other resorts, I expected a higher quality resort. We have friends that have been there multiple times and told us that it is very run down right now. Upon talking with others that we met, they had the same conception. There is construction going on, so the restaurants were moved from the beach/pool area. I would have liked more outside dining access. The only restaurant at the beach was always busy so we had to wait, and the pool menu is limited. The food was good, but still not at the quality I expected. The bathrooms at the pool area need updating, and I expected the rooms to be nicer.
On a positive note... The staff was amazing!!! The service that we received from them was definitely exceptional. If the resort was updated to the level of the staff it would be 5 star!!
