Weaverville Hotel

Weaverville Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"The Weaverville hotel is a beautiful old hotel on the historic registry rebuilt in 1880. It is very clean and well situated on Main St. in downtown Weaverville with close proximity to great hikes and, Trinity Lake, and the Trinity River. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated in the style of the past with decor that consists of lovely old lamps, antiques, and furniture that belongs to another era. There is attention to detail with quality amenities like good coffee, shampoos and lotion. We enjoyed our stay and appreciated that the whole hotel seemed to be a labor of love by its owners. The only issues we had were with check in. It is a keyless facility so you are given a code to enter into keypads on all entry doors. The code we received didn’t work. Fortunately assistance is a phone call away and we were able to clear up the issue. But staff needs to make guests aware of how to enter the code. You must hit a little button with what looks like a house icon before you enter the numbers. We struggled a bit using the codes and while we always got in it was a bit annoying at times. There are no TVs, which was ok with us because we had our tablets and the WiFi is excellent. Overall we enjoyed our stay. There is a common refrigerator, ice machine, and fresh water available in a common space. The AC units in the room were a bit noisy but tolerable. The showers are great. I would recommend this hotel but be aware it is not a modern building."

River Retreat+ Indoor Pool & Hot Tub on 3.5 Acres

10/10 Excellent
"The kids loved the game room and indoor pool. The “murphy beds” are really fold-up cots with mattresses that you can find in the closet. It was really great that plenty of towels were provided in the pool area and the bathrooms. No AC in 3 of the upstairs rooms, which was a bit of a bummer during the day in 94 degree weather. The evening cooled down enough for the queen bed room, but the bunked room and the twin bed room stayed a bit warm all night. Otherwise, the location was beautiful, and the kids loved picking blackberries outside."

"Stu was great. Mary and Tom were great. We had trouble with the ice maker and Tom came out to bring us two bags of ice that got us through the week.. The setting of the cabin is lovely! The log cabin is lovely. We have lots of grandchildren so we give them an adventure for Christmas gifts. They chose Shasta area as they live in Salem Oregon and we live in the SF Bay Area. We paddle boarded on the river and on Trinity Lake. Enjoyed a hike in Canyon Creek. The kids tried fishing. So good to have the Junction City Market close by to keep us in ice cream!!!"
