Stayed in the glamping tent with my family of four (including a 5 & 9 yr old). Such a wonderful spot - tent was comfy w/ a dedicated toilet/sink room in a separate adjacent little building. Had a wonderful fire pit which the staff lit for us in the evening at the time we requested (on our was back from dinner we texted them from their very helpful app). All amenities in the main building were super clean, very new, and meticulously curated in a minimalist style. It had (x3) private Onsen baths...

This ryokan is the best location in Matsumoto! Along with being beautiful and super clean, you literally walk out the front door and you’re on an idyllic street with restaurants and shops. It’s also walkable from the train station, and a short walk to the castle. If you’re looking for a traditional ryokan, this is it! The host also speaks great English and is very helpful if you need anything.

The hotel is very well located, near the train and bus stations. We could walk to the castle in 10 minutes. The area felt safe and calm. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We appreciated the amenities available for free in the reception area. The laundry area was useful (though busy). The staff helped us arrange luggage transfer to Magome and stored our backpacks after check out when we went to tour the city. This is a very good choice for a trip to Matsumoto and the price is fair...

This stop in our trip was a favorite, small quaint city. Lots to do, could walk everywhere, no problem. will definitely go back to Matsumoto. The hotel was centeralized, clean, friendly, just what a traveler looks for at day's end.

The location is a bit off-track, but the area is nice and worth a detour if you have a car.
The building itself is ordinary but the room is very spacious and comfortable, with some view to the mountains and valley, and some to the next buildings.
The onsen is nice though not particular.
Service is very attentive and helpful.
But by far the best part was the dinner (and breakfast), which was Michelin-star level, multi-course beautiful and tasty dishes.
