Vacation home in Coon Valley with kitchen and balcony
Enjoy the privacy of the outdoors and be close to La Crosse for convenience!

Here you can 'get away' from the world and enjoy the cozy and secluded comfort of the country. This is the last house in the valley and offers a serene view of the coulee. Often deer and turkey will find their way to the field below the house and you will have the perfect sitting area to watch them feed and play.

In the winter, pack your cold weather wear and go for a walk along the creek or up the logging trail for a view of the coulee below. Bring your snowshoes for a winter walk. Or if you prefer, go sledding on the hill in front of the house. (sleds provided). What ever you choose to do, even if you stay indoors, you will enjoy the serenity of the valley.

If you like to ski, we are located just a few minutes from Mt. La Crosse.

If you are snowmobilers, the state trail is located less than a mile from the house and you can drive your snowmobile to the trail or drive your trailer to the trail, park and hop on from there.

In warmer weather, you can enjoy walks along the creek looking for fish and beavers or take a walk up the logging trail and see if you can spot a deer or other wildlife. Pack a picnic lunch and sit down by the creek and enjoy the sounds of water flowing over the rocks and the other sounds of nature.

At night, sit around the fire pit to relax and enjoy the outdoors.

If you want to venture out, La Crosse, Coon Valley, Westby and Viroqua are just a few miles away and offer various fun activities, dining and unique shopping. Or if you are looking for a drive and shopping through Amish country you are close to that as well.
Historic downtown La Crosse also offers a wide array of dining venues, theatre, live music, art galleries, shopping and bars.

Our home is nicely located close to the city whether you’re coming for a getaway, to meet family and friends, or to enjoy one of the local events or festivals such as Applefest, Riverfest, Oktoberfest, Irishfest, Syttende Mai, Norskedalen, The Beer, Wine and Cheese Festival, The State Track and Field competition, Westby Ski Jump , or to visit Family and Friends at UW-La Crosse, Viterbo College, or Western Wisconsin Technical College, we are just a short drive into town.

Our home offers 5 Bedrooms: 2 King beds and 3 Queen beds and also a queen size pull out sofa bed in the lower level. There are three bathrooms, one on the main level, one in the master bedroom and a spacious new bathroom located in the lower level.
Air-conditioned accommodations at this vacation home offer DVD players and coffee/tea makers. Rooms open to balconies. Accommodations are furnished with dining tables and kitchen islands. Kitchens offer refrigerators, stovetops, microwaves, and cookware/dishes/utensils.

Nice place to stay
House was clean and had enough room for our entire group of people who were there to ice fish. Nice to have garage space for all of our gear. There is a grouse outside that believes it’s a pet, which was very entertaining. She did get into the garage but I was able to get her out without injuring either of us. Great views and even seen a bobcat when driving down the road by the house. If it were snowy/Ice road conditions, the roads to get to the house might be a little treacherous. Communication through the app was a little slow, but easier and faster communication through text/calls. Did not like the check in process as the owners meet you at the house and show you around and go over the rules, give you the keys, etc. Makes it hard if you don’t know the exact time you will arrive and delay in any planned activities outside the house. Also if you have a bigger group who are doing different activities and want to lock the doors as you will have to hide a key somewhere for the other people. I also did not read the rental agreement part about bringing a check for a security deposit. We did have a larger group than when we originally booked, so I let them know ahead of time. I was able to Venmo her the cost difference as I do not have any checks. Overall the house itself was great and there is plenty of sleeping space. Would probably stay there again, just wish they would change the check in process so it is easier for the guests.
