“Shap Wells was an unexpected gem! The hotel was wonderfully decorated with stained glass and an “old world” feel. The room and hotel was clean and the food was excellent! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking space was generous and we certainly felt safe! Beautiful place to stay with an interesting history!”

“We really enjoyed our stay at the Royal Oak. The room was basic, but clean and adequate. The bed was comfortable. We ate dinner there as well and it was delicious. The breakfast was good. My husband got the full English and I got scrambled eggs and bacon. The scrambled eggs seemed to be the rehydrated kind, but otherwise the meal was good. We would stay here again. ”

“Dogs friendly lodge. I do appreciate people in the UK treat their dogs as families. We saw a lot of friendly dogs in the lodge. What a great experience. The breakfast is nice and the receptionist is enthusing to deliver help. ”

“Cosy feeling pub. Fantastic food. Nicely furnished cosy rooms but limited plugs for phone charging etc. We were in the room at the front above the pub, quite noisy from the pub below at night could make it difficult for some to sleep. Staff were welcoming and helpful.”

“The room was very clean and the beds very comfortable. The room had a GHD hairdryer, a good selection of tea and cofees. Communal areas were spotless and nicely decorated. We had a a good stay. The one small gripe was the cooked breakfast. Sausages and tomatoes were undercooked, it came with toasted sourdough but, it needed a softer bread. Especially as no baked beans allowed. I omitted a few things such as black pudding, egg and mushrooms. What was served wasn't increased to compensate. I……
