"Clean and comfortable & food as excellent 👍"

"We stayed for 3 nights from Sunday to Wednesday over the May Bank holiday with our dog. We have stayed here before and we thoroughly enjoyed or stay every time. The hotel, rooms and communal areas are always spotless - the reception staff, bar staff and cleaning staff are very helpful and accommodating. I heard that the hotel was under new management (hence some renovations around the hotel) and was worried that it might lose its ‘old world charm’ and historical reminders around the hotel; I hope this doesn’t happen. Our only gripe was with breakfast on the first morning (Bank Holiday Monday). We had booked to have breakfast in the lounge where dogs are allowed at 9.15. We came down to find there was no room for us; we were allowed in the Llewelyn Suite where there was a table with a cloth on. The waitress brought us tea and toast - I had to go into the main restaurant to find a tray, milk (no jugs), sugar, butter etc. a waiter did help me and brought them in on a tray - by this time the tea and toast was cold! It was unusually busy and the staff did apologise. The two mornings after that, a table was set up with everything already on the table. Everything else was perfect!"

"Great location. Very friendly and welcoming owners. Just a note that the bathroom and toilet are actually separate to the hut, and you need your own towels. We had enjoyable stay with the cosiness of the hut and watching the sheep out of the window. The hut seems to be well insulated, as the nights were cool but the hut remained warm, even without using the little wood burner."

"This was are third visit to the gladstone, Gavin and Stephen are brilliant hosts staff are excellent, food ot the hotel is excellent and not to expensive, car parking either side of the hotel. "

"The slate is a lovely hotel ,cosy and comfortable .the reception is welcoming and clean and there's a lovely log burner in the bar that gives the plase an atmospheric smell. Evening meal was really good and good value for the home cooked food we enjoyed . Breakfast was really good and just started the day perfectly . We recommend to anyone and we'd definitely stay again when visiting Wales ."

"Lovely old comfortable cottage, well equipped with everything you need. Hosts very friendly and so were their dogs. Quiet area just off the A55 and handy to get to the local attractions. Would be happy to return."
