"I spent 3 nights in a 3rd-floor room here and was generally pleased. The room was spacious with a very comfortable bed. The kitchen nook was a plus although the freezer badly needed defrosting. Everything was clean and worked, although the desk chair was surprisingly beat-up looking. Free breakfast was better than most. Parking was easy and the location convenient, in Decatur's southern burbs. Staff was pleasant but street noise was audible in my room despite being on the top floor. Regardless, if I were returning to the area I'd stay here again."

"Our family had an amazing experience staying at the Prairie View Cottage, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable getaway.The cottage itself was clean, and the family thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub and peaceful property. One of the highlights of our stay was Rose's flexibility and kindness in accommodating our last-minute request to extend our visit. We truly appreciated her willingness to work with us, which allowed us to savor an extra day together in such a wonderful setting.Overall, this VRBO exceeded our family’s expectations, and we are grateful for Rose's hospitality. "Overall, the house was great. Small added touches of coffee, hot chocolate, creamer and small "forgetful items" in the bathrooms was very considerate.The lake "toys" provided enjoyment for the entire family, regardless of age. Kayak was nice and lake was calm making it use very enjoyable. ** we did lose one oar with black end, it floated until we got to it, then sank. Also lost orange ball but replaced it with red one.The large deck in the rear of the house allowed for entire group to sit and enjoy games to be played.We normally don't use dining table at our gatherings, however we found this nice to eat together in this way without technology going on.House was clean and inviting. The selection puzzles and other games was nice.Only negative comment I can think of is that a bath mat as an option would be nice. The tub was a little slick and no handles for entrance or exit. Also, the mowers arrived around 9 to 10 on Thursday. This may be out of your control so I left this off of the rating. Most of the house was still sleeping.Thanks again for an enjoyable week and the use of your home. I appreciate the gesture for the military discount as well."
