The Royal Sea Aquarium sits on a beautiful, clean beachfront property with friendly, multilingual staff.
However, the front desk is understaffed usually just one receptionist and one concierge, meaning check-in can easily take over 30 minutes after a long day of travel.
The oceanfront rooms are spacious, clean, and feature true ocean views and a kitchenette.
Unfortunately, genuine hospitality ends at the room door.
Standard hotel conveniences like in-room coffee, shower caps, and ice buckets are absent unless purchased separately. Additionally, typical resort perks like water sports aren't included, you’ll face extra charges for almost everything ($60 for an ice bucket, $10/hour for kayaks, plus a $30 towel deposit).
Most resorts will give you a graceful 1hr late checkout, expect a $25+ fee.
Overall, the constant fee-for-service model undermines what could otherwise be a peaceful getaway.
