Hotel Saint George

Marfa

10/10 Excellent

I was deciding between Hotel Saint George and Hotel Paisano and I’m so glad I chose Hotel St George! It’s clean, modern, fresh. Great location walking distance to galleries and restaurants (we enjoyed Margaret’s for dinner). But what makes it so special is the art! Amazing contemporary pieces in the hallways, lobby, in the rooms. I was walking around mesmerized by all the art, I even walked through all 4 floors just to see what the other floors had on display. Thanks for curating such a special...

Davis Mountains Inn

10/10 Excellent

We stayed for three nights. I am not going to lie, I was a little anxious about this one but it fit our budget so we gave it a try. So glad we did as it was wonderful! It was our first B&B type of experience. The strangeness of roaming around someone else's home was short lived, sharing a bathroom was no problem at all, and sitting down to breakfast with all the other guests turned out to be so much fun! The home is lovely, warm, and inviting. You can watch the deer come up into the yard while...

Butterfield Inn Main Street Cottages

The cottage was really cute and clean. Plenty of towels. My daughter kept in touch with the staff for me. It did have a fireplace which was not needed for our stay but fall hit soon after we left. There was not a kitchen but did have a mini fridge and microwave. We spent time at Fort Davis National Historic Site, Balmorhea State Park, actually saw the Marfa lights, and the McDonald Observatory. Definitely recommend!

I stayed here in Alpine because I was visiting Marfa & there aren't many available/affordable places to stay there. Staff was very friendly & nice! Good value for the money & a good location close to everything. Wi-Fi worked well, which is important on a vacation! They offer free breakfast or a discount on a meal at Penny's Diner next door, which is open 24 hours. 4 stars for amenities only because there's no pool. Everything else was great & I would stay here again!
