“This was the most enjoyable stay of my time in Scotland. The staff the facilities everything was excellent. Loved the gardens and the grounds, especially the alpacas and the peacocks.”
“Lovely location convenient to the ferry terminal and town centre. The host Caroline was very friendly and welcoming. Little extras left in the fridge were an added bonus and much appreciated.”
“Parking was good. Didnt mind paying 6 pounds. Meals were very nice. I slept on the couch and it was fairly comfortable. We are canadians so we're used to cups in the bathroom for doing our teeth. And also kleenex. We were also in a premier inn in Sterling and yours is SO much better. Cleaner,decorated nicely. Staff pleasant and helpful.”
“At check in we were allocted a room on 3rd floor and informed the lift was out of order.
As my Wife has a heart condition and is awaiting surgery this was unsuitable. we were informed that Expedia had been informed of the lack of a lift and that they (Expedia) should have advised us of this fact before we arrived.
We stayed in the hotel for only one night checking out on the 27th June as my Wife found the stairs extremely difficult, having to stop and recover at each landing.

“Old hotel and not really clean. Hair on linen.
The worst thing is no wifi connection at all because they are fixing it for days. The hotel should inform guests who want to book the hotel in advance rather than saying sorry after we arrived. Really bad experience as we are cheated.”
“Was ok. Peaceful location but huge gravel car park directly in front of ground floor rooms was noisy in morning and evening.
Stale smell inside the hotel in general. Staff were overly “formal / professional” - felt almost awkward at times and didnt feel friendly. Hot breakfast for £25 not good value, continental breakfast at £17 also not good value (yoghurt, granola, canned fruit and watermelon).
Good bedding, comfortable beds, but at this price I would not return.”
