"This was THE BEST hotel we have ever stayed at. We stayed in the ‘Mizuho Western Room with Open Air Bath, Mt. Fuji View’. From start to finish, everything was spot on - the staff were all super friendly and attentive, the room was immaculate, the views of Fuji from our private onsen were stunning (very lucky with the weather) and the food (Kaiseki meals served in-room) was incredible. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a special stay!"

"The staff was great, the location is just in front of the lake, however the property needs to be updated, carpet and cealings looks old and in some places seems to fall apart. They don't add the water at the room which we are used to have in Japan, we needed to ask for tówels and to make us our beds, which was an experience as we literally slept on the floor, something that we didn't know when we booked. Doors lock is also old and my friend says dificult to lock from the inside. It was I may say an unexpected Japanese experience including the breakfast, a nice experience after all. "

"Clean room, Staff are very helpful . Breakfast was just enough and good. Location very close to Mt Fuji Station within 5mins walk. Would be great if hotel provide pickup or send off to Mt Fuji Station because in the day when we checkout it was raining and we have to push our luggage to Mr Fuji Station to catch the train to Tokyo. If the weather was good we don’t mind pulling the luggage to the train station. However overall experience with the Hotel was good."

"Breakfast was good, the open air bath and sauna with view of Fuji was amazing, bus up and down the mountain to yamanakako proper was really handy. "

"This place needs an update and renovation — especially considering their very high price level. Carpets in public areas are stained and smelly. The rooms are not aesthetically appealing at all — very different from the aesthetics one is accustomed to from Japan. Almost all of the lights in our room gave off a cold light and two were neon lights. Ruined the mood and Ryokan vibe. Breakfast and dinner were highlights. Overall, it feels like a ripoff. No free water or coffee (you had to pay for the coffee machine in the lobby). We had to cancel our third night and informed them two weeks prior of that but received no refund whatsoever. We even had to pay for the full dinner and breakfast for 4 people that were included in the third night. We asked more than once if we could at least get a discount on some of their other services but were denied (not even a free coffee). "

"Our stay at La Vista Fujikawaguchiko was wonderful. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. They also provide pajamas/loungewear, which were extremely comfortable and a nice extra touch. We loved having a balcony with a beautiful view of Mount Fuji, especially in the morning and at sunset. The onsen and public baths were relaxing, and we especially enjoyed the private onsens as well. The location was peaceful and quiet, with gorgeous scenery all around. I highly recommend taking advantage of the hotel shuttle service to get to and from Kawaguchiko Station, as getting Ubers was more difficult than not, especially for a larger group. The nearest FamilyMart and 7-Eleven are about a mile away, so the breakfast buffet is definitely worth adding to your stay. There was a wide variety of options, and it was a great way to start the day before heading out. The staff were warm, welcoming, and very helpful throughout our stay. Honestly, this was the best stay of all the places we visited in Japan. We would definitely stay at La Vista Fujikawaguchiko again."
