The description notes that it's located above a bar, and it's important to note that this bar has live music on many Fridays and Saturdays and that the bedroom window is located above the part of the alley where patrons go to smoke. "We stayed in the tan Bay cottage. It was comfortable in the way that a very old worn in pair of tennis shoes is comfortable. The home was clean but not being well cared for. When we arrived, there was still trash in the trash bin in the kitchen, an empty box of trash maybe from a previous tenant and a pair of old socks laying on the floor and one of the beds was unmade.The home itself was nicely updated for the upper peninsula of Michigan. The landscaping (grass and bushes) was very unkept and the lot between the two cottages ( looks like a house was there before but was recently torn down) is a sand pit, which is very unsightly. The back porch felt very unstable, and the railing was loose. The air conditioning for the home really doesn't work, but also the box fan that was upstairs did not work. Also, there are no window coverings on the sliding door in the kitchen, which looks out onto the the parking lot of the Comfort Inn."

"The Downtown Cottage was the perfect home base for my wife and my visit to Munising and the Pictured Rocks lakeshore along Lake Superior. We wanted a central location to easily access day hiking trips to the many waterfalls, trails, and beaches along Pictured rocks. We also wanted to be able to walk to restaurants, breweries, and other points of interest in Munising after our hikes. The Cottage met all our expectations. Clean, comfortable, and excellent linens/ bedding. We easily navigated all of the waterfalls and trails in the area between Au Train and Sable Point and Sable Falls. We walked to Earl E. Byrds for breakfast and Tracey’s, Eh! Burger, Life on the Rocks, and Barge Inn for evening fare along with short drives to The Brownstone Inn and Foggy’s Steakhouse. We also walked to board the Pictured Rocks sunset cruise from the local marina - it was spectacular! The communication with the owner, Lisa, was informative and excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Munising and our beautiful hikes throughout Pictured Rocks! Thank you Lisa, and we will see you again in the future!"

"We love this hotel! It was our 2nd stay. It has a great friendly vibe where most guests chill on the back patio and enjoy the fantastic view. The indoor pool is great. It is large, and also has a very big hot pool. We had trouble getting our grandson out of it. Breakfast was hot and had a great assortment of food. We will be back the next time we’re in the area. Make your reservations early, as this is the best hotel in town."
