Grand Strand was great to work with cleaning crew doesn't know to clean

We booked this trip last minute so we took what we could get. 1st off Grand strand rent this property and they were great to work with. They allowed us to check in early which was great but when we arrived we could understand why. The floor was filthy all of our feet we black from walking on it (I understand it was from the sand but a quick mopping would have fixed the problem.) All of the living room table surfaces had food or drink stains that a quick wipe removed and their was visible dirt and food on the furniture. My issue is more with the cleaning service that grand strand uses than the actual property. It was as described in the website and accommodated our family well. The other down side was when we went to get in the bed all of the bed's sheets were full of sand. Dont know why that was but it was very frustrating. Grand strand had the cleaning service deliver new sheets the next day but that was a big draw back as well. Also Grand Strand also offers a beach gear credit but when I tried to use it it was not applicable. Come to find it the beach gear company does not bring rental gear to the Ocean Lakes. So that perk needs to be removed from the description. Other than the cleanliness issues we enjoyed our stay.

We had to rent 2 golf carts and when we got to the house it didn't have anything to charge the golf carts with and I called the rental places number on my reservation and told them and they didn't do anything about it. They said there should have been an extension cord there to connect them to and they advised me to go to Walmart and buy one so thats what we had to do and spend $25 and yes we took it home with us. The least they could have done was offered to go get us one then I paid for the linen package and when we got there we didn't have linens so I had to call and get those delivered and then to find out I paid $95 for linen and we only got 6 of each, minus kitchen towels I was really disappointed in that. Next time I'll bring my own since I had to wash them daily anyway. The floors where nasty like they hadn't been cleaned in a month because we had a 13 month old crawling on the floors and her knees where black after being there for only 5-10 minutes so we had to clean the floors right after we got there. I sent a message via email about how unclean the house was and noone every replied sorry to hear this or anything so the customer service that you should have given your guest was to be desired. On the linens the sheets we where given were to small for one of the beds but since we never got a reply about how the house wasn't cleaned I didn't waste my time on calling about the sheets. I've rented thru VRBO alot in the past but the service this time wasnt good.

Cozy home!

We enjoyed our stay at this home. Perfect for our family. Front porch was nice in afternoons and late evenings to gather, play games, grill and eat super. House was clean. Located in area that is quiet. We would stay again!

Great area

Great location, house was a good size and was what we expected. However, the property was not clean. I messaged the owner on the app with no response. I called him and was told “office hours were over at 5pm” which nothing in the listing states that. After speaking with the property owner he did call and have the cleaning company back out to fix the issues (new mattress covers, comforters, sweep the floors etc.) Appreciated that he made it right!

Everything about this was perfect! Checked in later than expected but those circumstances weren’t our fault. House was spacious, very clean, beds were comfy. We will definitely be using this house in the future & recommending to friends for use as well. First time renting a house for our vaca & we are very pleased!

Baby’s first vacation

Just stayed here Friday-Monday and had a blast. The house is in a quiet front corner of Ocean Lakes. Definitely need to rent a golf cart to get around in the park since the house is at the front of the park away from the pools and beach. If you do plan on getting a golf cart to rent we recommend bringing a drop cord to plug it in. The plug is up on the porch and we had to go buy a cord to reach. (The owner did say there was suppose to be one there but someone must have taken it) Overall the house was clean and met all of our needs. We will definitely consider staying in this house again next time we come!

2021 vacation

Second year staying at this property. The house is just the right size for my family. The two queen beds do not sleep the best, squeak with every move. Be careful on the last step on the porch in the dark, I turned my foot the second night. My biggest issue was with ocean lakes and the car passes. Paid in advance and a separate email said we can go straight to the property. Not true either print your car pass receipt or you will have to go into the ocean lakes office and get car pass tags for your cars. Anyway, enjoyed the trip besides the few issues.

Nice house, but...

This house is really nice. We liked the location, but it is a good way to the beach. Not a problem for us though. We did have some trouble at check-in as the property management had not called and confirmed our arrival. Had to go through check-in 3 separate times. After they called with confirmation, everything was fine. The house was nice but the bedrooms were not so clean. Found dirty sock in one twin bed, lots of hair in the queen bed. they need to wash the mattress covers. That was not a great start, but we had our own sheets so we were ok. We did have 3 roaches come out while we were there. When we called to check out they told us they were palmetto bugs. Looked that up. Same as a roach. We will not be staying at this property again. .

Very clean and spacious. Mr. Rand responded with any questions or concerns I had immediately. Even allowed me to add on two extra days at the last minute. Plenty of space for my family which included two teenagers, a toddler, and a family friend. The location was was great with not much through traffic. Definitely needed a golf cart as the house is some distance from the beach and other attractions. Luckily we brought our own. I would recommend this house to stay in again!

Perfect house for my family

The house is in a great location away from the noise of cars and golf carts. Nice covered porch. My family had a great time. Plenty to do at ocean lakes for kids and adults.

Perfect weekend

My family and I had the privilege to rent this property for Labor Day and it could not have been any more perfect. From the initial contact with the owner (Jim) to checkout, everything was smooth. We were able to find the property very easily and it was extremely clean. The house is located in the quieter section which was perfect for our group and had more than enough room. The neighbors are very friendly and were more than willing to answer a question if you have one. I will definitely rent this place again. Thanks again Jim for allowing us to rent your house.

A Nice overall Property

This property has all the required amenities. It can be improved by having it cleaned properly before the next guest arrives. The entire front porch area was filthy and the grill was not cleaned, some of the dishes were still wet from being put away before they were properly dried. The closet door in the back right bedroom needs to be repaired and there are no bath mats provided.
