This is a gorgeous property, but they don’t seem staffed well enough yet for the influx of travelers right now. Certain aspects are lacking, or falling through the cracks.
The rooms are spacious and beautiful, and in a great location in The Quarter. If you are looking for a quiet place to stay, though, this one isn’t it. You will hear Bourbon St. most of the night. If you’re going with a group who plans to be on Bourbon a lot, though, this hotel is for you!
The bar that’s shown on their website isn’t fully operational yet, so that felt a bit like false advertising. Additionally, there wasn’t any breakfast or meal in the courtyard, which is also prominently advertised on their website.
The most disappointing thing was the cleanliness. At first glance, the rooms are clean and bright. On our last night, though, we discovered a dark brown smear on the duvet (which had been covered by sheets by housekeeping), and a dark rust-cooored spot on the bottom sheet down near the end of the bed. Additionally, crumbs and debris from previous guests were packed into the corners of the mini fridge.
Overall, I won’t choose this hotel for another stay due to cleanliness issues, but as they continue to staff and reestablish their property after COVID-19, I hope they return to their former glory.
