STAY AT YOUR OWN RISK...
Before coming, I was worried about cleanliness and safety from past reviews. Luckily, we didn't see a cockroach during our stay and rooms seemed pretty normal as depicted. My family and I stayed here for a week for a wedding. Our family friends had warned us about the New Orleans East neighborhood, but I would say that I felt the resiliency and friendliness of the people there.
Pros: The price. Can't really beat it. Hadi, the manager was very accommodating and Kiara, one of the front desk staff helped us as well. They both deserve promotions. :-) The beds were surprisingly comfortable. Mostly everything worked and we thought the accommodations were ok. We used some of the amenities like the fitness room and the laundry (which is $4.00 per load). It's about a 15-20 minute drive to the French quarters. My family enjoyed the restaurants nearby like the Bullard seafood, Tony's and Waffle House. Also not too far from Walmart and Walgreens.
Cons: The door doesn't close all the way in #313. #311 had a strong mold/bleach smell and the hot water didn't work. After two days staying in those rooms, we requested to be moved. The shower head didn't work in #424 and the doors were bent in #422. Other than that, the 4th floor rooms were much better. During our last few days, there were around 4 cars that got their windows smashed in the parking lot.
Suggestions: Replace the carpet. Increase the security deposit from $50 to $200 since it’s refundable.
