Worst situation ever encountered

Arrived at check in time with a vehicle of supplies including perishable foods. Sign on condo door stated that the property would be without electricity during our stay! Then, after a couple of hours, Vicasa sent us to another facility...could not enter parking lot for construction and then when we did find parking and went to designated unit, it was not at all suitable for a vacation stay. So we had to get a hotel room until the following day when we found a property that could accommodate us. This cost us money and precious vacation time!

Roaches found in kitchen unit and unit wreaked of bleach!

Mom's day at the Beach

We took my mom on a long weekend for her birthday and she loved this community so much that she started looking at buying a condo in this complex. It was very clean and peaceful with great landscaping, great pool right near the ocean but also only a few steps from the condo. The only difficulty she had was that the access to the beach were stairs which she had a hard time with but I think that is common for the area. We were on the bottom floor and enjoyed watching a family of bunnies graze every morning and evening. The condo itself was clean and the layout was great. The 2 bedrooms had good space between them for privacy and the doors to them that it wasn't disturbing to sleep while others are in the common areas. The unit is a little dated but provides almost everything you need. Beach and bath towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, dish soap, dish washer soap, sponges, extra pillows and blankets, blender and other appliances, kids sand toys, 2 beach chairs, 2 camping chairs, beach umbrellas, garbage bags and I'm sure there was more. I tried to list as much as I can remember because they didn't have a lot of it in the write up so we OVERPACKED a lot. I do wish they had all of that in listing to save use some fuse. Also, it said it would have 6 wrist bands and they only had 3. Luckily there were only 3 of us but it would have been good for the day 2 family members came for the day. Also, there were no ceiling fans and no lights on a switch in the bedrooms

Allergies BEWARE

Pictures do not allow you to smell! A dehumidifier was in the unit but not working. Mold growing on vents, around the doors, and in the refrigerator. My eyes and throat we immediately itchy. My son and I we both sick with in 5 hours of checking in. Check in at 4 and I contacted vrbro at 5:35 to find out the condo was actually booked through a third party Vacasa. And I had to deal with them. Finally got someone around 6:30pm to be given the run around. We were stuck for the night. I booked a different unit by 10 am the next morning and was out by 11 when house keepers came to re clean the unit. Finally got my money back after spending three days of vacation dealing with Vacasa. What a stressful trip. I will gladly share pictures and a video of the unit so you can know what it truly looks like.

Quiet get-away

My wife and I needed a short get-away to get a few days to ourselves. This place was just what we needed. Yes, the furniture and decor are a little dated, but that didnt bother us. This property was very clean, very quiet, and included everything we needed to enjoy our time there. I would recommend this place to everyone looking for relaxing peace and quiet. I didnt want to keep it a secret for myself.

Great Location- unit needs some TLC

Some friends and I decided to take a last minute trip to the beach. The options were limited when we booked. The location of the condo was perfect. Right on the beach, grocery across the street, etc. The surfaces were clean but it needs a deep clean. The floors, baseboards and walls were dirty. Paint is peeling off the interior doors. The dehumidifier was full. There are moisture collecting bags in the closets- they were all full of water when we got there. There were no washcloths and few towels. The code to the door is annoyingly long. None of this overshadowed our stay, but are some things the owner may consider taking care of.

Great location and very clean

We loved the convenience of the 1st floor. Easy access to the pool and beach. The condo is a bit dated but, was very clean. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

Just ok

Our stay was wonderful and just what we needed. The condo was very basic and met our needs. However, if you are looking for something updated and comfy, this is not for you. The furniture and decor is very outdated. In the picture, it showed leather furniture, but there ar actually blue slip covers on the coaches and large chair. The slip covers do not fit well so we were constantly messing with them. The couches had recliners; however, we could not recline due to the slip covers. The master bed is very old with a foam pad on top....so not much support. Again, the condo was very basic and met our needs. We were not in the condo very much so we were fine with it being outdated.

Unacceptable response from conglomerate.

This rental is offered by a corporation. Nobody on site or anywhere near to assist with any problems. Took us two days to get wristbands so we could access the pool. Also, the code to get in the door stopped working one day and I called twice and was told that they were logging a ticket for me. Not acceptable when you are in the 96° Florida heat with a three year old screaming And they could not tell me at all when anybody would be able to help us get into the unit. I did not have my purse, ID, or car keys, so I was stuck at the door. Finally called the third time and got an agent who had a little more experience, and was able to tell me about the lockbox and giving me the code to get into it to get the key. Instant access when that happened. I will never rent from anyone other than a personal host or hostess. It appears that these corporations are buying up these units and renting them out, and you can expect the same type of service from them that you get from other big corporations.

Short little beach day

We enjoyed the stay. Was disappointed that we did not know beforehand that there was no beach access because of the hurricane. None of the TVs work at the unit. The spectrum bill was not paid so none of the tv worked. They did give us a $100 credit but it was inconvenient.

Great spot, Great stay

My daughter and I had a great time, place was cozy, in a great location, with a nice pool and right on the beach. I really love that cars can’t drive on this part of the beach. Bed was super comfy and overall everything was wonderful. My daughter said she wanted to come back to this exact unit!

Good location, updates needed

This property is in a good location in relation to the area attractions, shopping and restaurants. Love the beach and pool access from the first floor condo. Appreciated the access to the clubhouse restrooms by the beach/pool and the gas grills by the beach. Condo is a bit outdated and the mattresses and pillows are not comfortable. The primary television in the living room has sound issues. I reached out through the VRBO app to the “host” which was connecting me to Vacasa and received no reply to any of my messages. I ended up working on the television sound for 3 hours on our first night at the condo which included a call to the cable company. Eventually we figured things out but completely missed out on doing other things that evening due to the amount of time it took to correct the sound on the tv. It was important since a few evenings during our stay were rainy, so we needed access to the tv for movie nights. The tv sound continued to go in and out throughout the rest of the trip but we figured out if we changed the station and then switched back, the sound would usually correct itself. It can get frustrating losing sound 10-15 times during a movie though. Another day of our vacation, two men were trying to get in the front door and scared my elderly mom who was there at the time. They were maintenance workers trying to change the air filter and their keys were not working. It was disconcerting though since we weren’t expecting anyone. It would have been nice for the condo office to let us know to be expecting someone would be letting themselves in the condo.

Clean but Shabby

Condo was clean, property well manicured, nice pool and great access to beach. Condo was badly in need of upgrades. Kitchen/bath linens were snagged, thin, raveling edges and mismatched. Bedroom furniture and Master Bath vanity was circa 1960 with dents and scratches that match inexpensive furniture at that age. Metal vents throughout condo were rusted. Kitchen cabinets were painted white to freshen up dark cupboards but poor workmanship with this effort and several drawers were falling apart. Kitchen dishes were an eclectic collection of mismatched items enough to say it was furnished. Patio screen door didn't slide, outdoor patio furniture very worn; fresh paint would help this place. I have used VRBO for the past 5 years and have been very satisfied until now. Not sure if the problem was with VRBO or Vacasa but I would definetly look for another condo at Castle Reef

Nice Getaway

Clean and well organized. We loved the beach toys that were available to use. Having the games were also great. We played Uno one night and had a blast. The kitchen was well stocked and we appreciated that there were already coffee filters and garbage bags. Our biggest complaint is that the listing itself advertised has having washer and dryer as part of the amenities. This is not amenity however as the washer and dryer are not in the unit rather they are property of the condo and are not free. I packed light expecting that I would have a washer and dryer to use which is especially nice when traveling with young children. Unfortunately the condo was in the process of replacing the washer and dryers and so even if I did want to pay to use the washer and dryer I couldn’t as they weren’t even available. Super frustrating. I wish someone from the vacasa management would have messaged me this information beforehand so I could have packed differently. The home itself is cozy. We appreciated how clean it was. Overall the home needs major updating- the outlets were extremely old and one outlet in the master bedroom is coming apart entirely. There were plenty of towels and linens which was nice. Our family had a great time. The pool and the location to the beach is ideal!
