Not worth it
I'm not sure why they are still charging a resort fee when there were no services provided, not even coffee in room, no in-room dining, really no services. There was parking garage service going on the whole time and the property charged $35 self parking everyday. Parties by the pool Friday and Saturday with very little social distancing and even fewer masks. Beautiful ocean and golf course view. Slow elevators. Kids playing in elevators making them even slower.. Accessibility for the bathroom was a board in the bathtub and we have requested a walk-in. The property sees very dated, not modernized at all. Great location for Fashion Island

Clean hotel and perfect location
Going during the reopening of business from COVID-19 closures the spa and restaurant inside were closed, but the beautiful ocean view we had from our room and overall cleanliness and kindness of staff made it easy to forget about those things. Right next to Fashion Island and a ton of restaurants, all about a 5 min walk. Only thing I would say is their pillows are VERY soft, so if you like more support when you sleep bring your own!

Glorified Motel 6- Running on the Marriott name on
Upon checking in, we found out there was no restaurant service, no room service and no coffee maker in the room. No prior notice on the website. We had just come from another nice hotel in CA that had room service, restaurant service and coffee in the room while complying with all Covid guidelines. It boggles my mind why the Marriott of all places doesn’t have this and seems to blame everything on Covid to take things away from their guests while overcharging them for a rundown hotel in Newport Beach. After our half mile walk to the room, entering our room that should have been renovated 10+ years ago, we opened our curtains for a glorious view of the roof of their convention center. Nice. My wife has arthritis, so with the long walk we wanted to sleep in. That didn’t happen thanks to the front desk calling us for our delivery early the next morning. We had no delivery. Wrong room. Thanks guys! After I had my long walk to the Starbucks in the lobby and following their COVID protocol, out the back, down the stairs, around the atrium, back up a flight of stairs, then the 1/2 mile walk to the room-cold coffee. Mask on always of course. Everything sterile. Except the 20 pens everybody used to sign the room charges. Didn’t clean those. This hotel is a true waste of land. Tear it down and put up a playground.
