It was interesting, a bit creepy given its history.They simply do not provide a level of service to warrant the price. The restaurant wasn’t open. The bar, even when there were only four other customers, took half an hour to get a glass of wine. Snail pace service, grounds need work, amenities are nearly non-existent. The staff were very nice, but not properly trained or up for the task. The history is interesting, but very sad. Over embracing the asylum backstory makes the guests uncomfortable.

Overall, the property was far below the anticipated conditions and value for the nightly rates. My room was damp & musty, strong indications of mold growth in the air vents/return. Linens were stained and had hair that did not belong to my partner or myself. Our in room fridge wasn’t functioning, but this was not apparent until the next morning when the items placed inside were still warm more than 12 hours later
