Not as it seemed based on pictures….
Communication was a little delayed at first booking. When we arrived the VBRO site was not working properly, not the property manager’s fault. While he was kind enough to leave us some treats, it didn’t make up for the hot mess apartment.
He warned us about a a lot if “glade plug-ins”, ok fine we can unplug if too much. However, the plug-ins are needed to cover the damp smell of the place. He stated he had the carpets & couch cleaned prior to our stay, ok fine but carpets were still damp when we arrived. And while carpets may have been cleaned, the place had not been dusted or kitchen actually wiped down. The shower had recently been caulked, like possibly that day, & was dilapidated the soap holder was caulked in thickly & couldn’t be touched or it would move. The bathroom ceiling had mildew & mold. The true kicker was every time we used the washer it the carpet in the hallway got soaked. This was obviously not a one time new occurrence. Every thing felt damp the entire stay. We completed what we needed to do in VA & left a few days early bc this was not a place for a family to stay comfortably, especially for the high price. So while the pictures look like it’s a cute little retreat, it feels more like a damp dark cave.
