"Had a very surprising experience, paid £65 for 1 single room and didn’t expect much due to the price, just something cheap and cheerful, maybe a bit dated. Room massively surpassed expectations - view of lake Windermere, minimal white/grey design, really clean, and to top it off, an amazing power shower that went ARCTIC COLD (for those who do cold showers, this one’s for you). Had the best stay! Also, it’s right next to the entrance for the walk up to Orrest head for a full panoramic view of Windermere. Perfection. "

"North Lakes Hotel & Spa is a beautiful facility with lush green gardens. Who would have thought I’d be wishing for an air conditioned room in May! The rotating fan did help a little but my room still felt humid and stuffy. Also the toilets appear to have been upgraded but holding the button in to flush is difficult. Overall NLH&S is a beautiful facility with great service and friendly welcoming staff. I would definitely stay again but during cooler weather. "

"Very comfortable hotel with lovely gardens, and good breakfast. Staff were friendly, parking plentiful, and walkable to Lake Windermere and the shops/restaurants in Bowness on Windermere. Enjoyed the birds inhabiting the gardens - get a window table for breakfast to enjoy the birds while you eat."

"Perfectly situated hotel, easily walkable into Bowness and all its attractions. The Belsfield has beautiful grounds and although maybe could do with a slight refresh it’s still a beautiful hotel with lots of charm and character. Breakfast was good and speedily served. The staff are polite and attentive and big shout out to the barman on Saturday evening who made me the best mai tai I’ve ever tasted. The only issue we had was parking related, we arrived at about 3.30pm on the Saturday and the car park was full. We managed to get a space later once the late lunch visitors left. Next time we visit the Lakes we would choose to stay here again. "

"We had a very comfortable stay at the Seacote hotel. Staff couldn’t do enough to make our stay enjoyable! Our two small dogs enjoyed it too! Great place for dogs."

"Absolutely stunning views from the room. The staff were amazing and went above and beyond to accommodate a different room for my 1 year old son. I was given a room with a 4 poster bed and requested one without this. The manager showed me 3 different rooms one of which was a family room (even though I only booked a double room) just to cater to my request. She was patient and allowed me to choose a room I ended up going with the original room given to me as the views were beautiful and not once was she annoyed. She was patient and asked for housekeeping to attend and do up the sofa bed. Overall staff were lovely. This was a last minute stay and I would definitely return and recommend to friends and family "
