“While the restaurant was excellent, the hotel quaint and the town wonderful, there were a few concerning features of my stay. The elevator was out for my entire stay with no advance notice, necessitating carrying a suitcase up and down a steep staircase. The carpet in the room was very extremely old appearing, and the bed was very uncomfortable without support and left me with a backache. For the high price, I was disappointed. There was no refrigerator or safe in the room either.”

“Quaint and beautiful historic hotel! Right in downtown Placerville. We loved strolling from the hotel to all the cute shops and antique stores along the row. Hotel itself was clean, well managed with friendly staff. Shower was hot with great pressure! We loved the antique look of the rooms. Bonus: if you like ghosts and spooky stories, this hotel is great! We loved watching the Portals to Hell episode about the hotel… in the hotel! Overall, fantastic experience. We would stay here again if……
