“The Anchor was a convenient stay for us as we needed to be close to the ferry to take us to Isla. The staff were very pleasant and check-in was easy. Parking was across the street and convenient as well. The rooms are very small and dated but clean and comfortable. There is a pub next door and many people were enjoying the World Cup so it got pretty noisy but we were able to sleep. We had a fabulous dinner in the Anchor's restaurant. I have a shellfish allergy and they were able to accommodate.……
“Checked into our first room, toilet flush inop and a washing up bowl on the side with the toilet fixings hanging off. Reported to reception who moved us to another room with a sauna, sauna did not work, horrendous noise from the kitchen fans and no sea view which we had upgraded to. Back to reception for a second time and had to argue to get moved room again. Third room was terrible, smelt damp, curtains hanging off, paint peeling off walls and cracks in windows.
Only upside was the food was……
