"Overall, the hotel was a wonderful experience. It was clean, modern, and well-appointed. I'd stay again. However, I need to address something that gets overlooked in hospitality design: the bathroom lighting. Like many new hotels that embrace contemporary aesthetics, the lighting over the sink is functionally useless for dark-skinned guests. The trendy backlit mirror and cool-toned LED strips may look sleek, but they cast deep shadows on darker complexions, making basic grooming, shaving, skincare, and makeup application genuinely difficult. This isn't a minor inconvenience. It's an inclusivity oversight. Someone with skin like mine simply cannot see their face clearly enough to get ready properly. To hotel designers and procurement teams: representation matters at the decision-making table. Before finalizing a lighting package, test it across a full range of skin tones. Warm, diffused, front-facing light works for everyone. These contemporary fixtures do not. The hospitality industry is overdue for this conversation. "

"Our stay at the Yotel in Washington DC was great. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They go above and beyond to assist. 💕 I would have liked to use the pool—however I’ll have to come back! Check in/out are a breeze, no waiting in line unless there’s a question or issue. The only real negative is the lack of a coffee machine in the room. This would really make our stay exceptional. There is limited coffee provided on the 2nd floor—however most hotels have this accessible at all times. We were able to get a mini fridge which I greatly appreciated as I was travelling with two kids. Parking is easy and underneath the hotel, which made it easy to transport our items. The location is minutes from Union station and about 10-15 min from the Smithsonian museums. Great location! Thank you for a great stay."

"Great food and and price for hotel restaurant"

"My family and I had a great stay here. I was running the Cherry Blossom 10 Mile so we made it into a family vacation. We were able to have rooms that were next to each other which was really pleasant. The hotel is centrally located nearby the Nationals stadium and near various restaurants and bars. It does get a little loud at night but it isn't too bad. Would definitely stay here again!"

"Beds are very hard to sleep on. Breakfast at $30 was not worth it. Should have an egg station where they are made to order instead of watery eggs. Beware that parking is $65 per night. The restaurant is ok. Had a very dry hamburger. But the staff are nice. People are the front desk are not."

"The staff in both the lobby bar and the rooftop bar were not friendly and took a long time to serve people with a minimum of customers in both places."
