Beautiful suite and excellent location
5 / 5 Excellent
We just spent 2 nights here and had a wonderful stay. There were four adults and a dog for our stay and there was plenty of room for us all to dine and hang out together in the living and kitchen space.
The internet was fast with 4+ devices connected to it and we were easily able to stream movies
The kitchen has all of the pots, pans, dishes, glasses, mugs, and utensils we needed to cook breakfast and dinner for our stay as well as a great new gas grill that we enjoyed firing up at night for dinner.
The kitchen table seats 4 and could be easily pulled away from the wall for more accessible use during meals and put back afterwards to free up some space.
The bathroom was bright and clean and had great water pressure and plenty of hot water for all of us to wash up after a day out on the trails. The towels were also nice and soft.
The beds were comfortable, with plenty of pillows, nice linens, and extra blankets if needed.
Having the hardwood floors throughout was very nice, too, as we occasionally tracked some dirt in but could easily sweep up with the provided broom and dustpan.
The windows, which are not something I would typically review, are very easy to open and close and were especially nice for us to enjoy the cool fall air.
The deck was large with a patio table and chairs and had a beautiful view of the lake.
We loved the fire pit (plenty of wood provided on site) and used it both nights, enjoying the clear starry skies and autumn nights.
We also travelled with our dog, so this location being pet-friendly was a driving reason for our selection as many places do not allow pets.
The location is great - 1 mile from the main entrance Gooseberry, 1.15 hours from Grand Marais, 10 and 20 minutes from Split Rock and Tettegouche. You can't beat it!
We absolutely recommend staying here with family and friends and look forward to a future stay ourselves.
