"Nice holiday close to central park "
Our experience was very good , but we all love tea & coffee to wake up to and we were disappointed that there was none ,in our rooms as we love to wake up to a cups in the morning to give us a good start to our day .

"Marmara Hotel Review, April 2016 "
The hotel is located at 94th St. and 2nd Ave. They are constructing a new subway line at 2nd Ave so there is a major construction project along 2nd Ave right in front of the hotel. Couldn't really hear it during the day and they are accommodating to pedestrians. They are also inspecting or working on the building facade but both projects were only being worked during the day so no noise at night. The balcony was not accessible due to facade work but not an issue since I wouldn't think of opening the door with toddlers crawling around. The 2nd Ave subway will help a bunch once completed. Closest subway is on Lexington and 96th St, walk up a steep hill. The hotel room size made our stay very comfortable and the house keeping staff was timely and thorough. The hotel is a little ways from midtown but close enough to the museums on 5th Ave, about a 20-30 min walk. The walk down 5th Ave is pleasant and scenic along Central Park. Central Park can be accessed at 5th Ave and 91st St., about a 15 min walk up 94th St. The hotel staff was welcoming when we arrived and departed for the city everyday. One guy at the front desk was stoic and not overly friendly but not an issue for us. Most others were friendly. Parking is in a garage down the street which is cheaper if you park yourself but it is not easy to just get your car when you want. Incurs a new day charges. Maybe because of the work to shift cars around to get yours out. Parking can be difficult so I would recommend taxi or subway

"Nice place to stay. Great staff"
The staff was incredible and unbelievably helpful. The room size was less than desirable, but we made it work and at least it was clean. Just don't expect a large suite. Barely enough room to unpack our 2 suitcases. But who goes to NYC to hang out in the room anyways, right? The location was nice, although we spent most of our time downtown so it was a few extra minutes on the subway. Even with construction next door I was able to get a full nights sleep for all 3 nights.

Lovely small hotel in an excellent location. Nice traditional look on entering which follows through to all areas and rooms. Staff were all friendly and helpful whatever time of day. The free tea and coffee on the mezzanine 24/7 a bonus, staff and guests soon got used to the English lady in her robe early mornings getting tea for three! Rooftop terrace also a treat as the weather was glorious and you can see Central Park which is so near. No facilities up there but you can take food and drink up ( no glassware though). Only downside for me was that we were at the front of the hotel and Madison Avenue is extremely busy all the time. Thank goodness for earplugs!

"close to hospitals and easy access from NJ ferry"
Have been there several times, this time had to have room changed, old furniture and no view New room very cramped no chair only a desk which made the room even smaller, was disappointed in room for the first time. Have recommended this hotel to at least 5 other families who were satisfied in April 2016

Pocket Guide: New York Upper East Side Independent Pet-friendly Hotels

Of all the superlatives used to describe the Upper East Side, one word is apt: richest. Some of the city’s wealthiest residents live in the high rises that line Fifth Avenue. Be prepared to spend an entire day at the Museum of Metropolitan Art. Both a physical and art-world behemoth, the Met is home to several masterworks, from an intact ancient Nubian temple to post-modern color studies.
