"Good hotel for West Minister Dog Show"
Was concerned after reading reviews. My family rented two rooms. Not quite as nice as pictures show. The air conditioning didn't work, but window opened and worked just fine. Our room was clean enough, but old. Phone and clock radio didn't work. My kids tv didn't work well either. We had our phones and notepads so didn't matter. Also, didn't spend much time in hotel so other than the long, long, long check in lines, it was fine. Front desk crew and maids were very nice and helpful. We were there for the West Minster Dog Show. Most of the dogs stay here, so definitely worth it. They also had a free shuttle every half hour to day shows.

"The location of this hotel is superb. "
The staff were accommodating, friendly and quick to act to any request. The beds are very very comfortable, and the house keeping was excellent. The rooms are tired looking, but if you don't mind this, it's a fabulously located hotel. In reality when your in New York, how long do you actually stay in your room?

"Lovely comfortable and clean hotel"
Our room here was extremely comfortable, especially the bed. Very convenient although they do charge you for everything. Note to the wise: DO NOT have breakfast here if it is not included!! We made this mistake on a day when we were running late and ended up paying $90 dollars for 2 people!!! for a regular mediocre buffet you can get at any hotel for free, we were absolutely outraged, what a rip off. Besides that, we were very pleased with everything else at the hotel, we loved the rooms, the restaurant food is decent and they also have good drinks. Location is in the middle of everything and close to the subway, which was very convenient.

The room was small but very clean and adequate amount of space for two. Bathroom was modern and worked well. Good use of a small space.

"Great location "
Had a great stay. Good size room with view of ESB. Staff friendly and helpful. Views from the roof are amazing even though the bar wasn't open. Don't mind the $25 extra charge - was already aware of it. It includes WiFi which is fast and reliable. My only issue is the snack cupboard- you get a $10 allowance each day. Everything is 3x normal price - $9.80 for 1l water. It's not the money, but this made me feel that I was being had over. Please, either reduce the allowance to $5 dollarsand half the prices or use a points system instead because at the moment it feels like the hotel is mugging you off. Nonetheless, very good hotel and I would recommend to friends and use it again in the future.

"Great hotel steps from Penn Station"
Business trip. As always, welcoming staff, eagerly upgraded my room. Love this property. The long term Affinia faces I've come to know were all still there, even though the property was sold. Great service! Great hotel!

"Mediocre Stay, Despite Great Decor, Food and Staff"
I stayed for one night and was really excited to finally have an Ace NYC experience. However, the best parts of my stay were all things I could have experienced without actually being a guest. For example, the decor, the bar and photo booth in the lobby, the shopping, the central location, the oyster bar (can't recommend enough) and the friendly staff were all top-notch. But I was much less satisfied when staying in my actual room. I booked a mini room, which was fine - the bed was comfortable, I was staying alone for one night, and I didn't mind having less space for a great location. But the other amenities were limited or expensive, and the hallways were very noisy at night. (Or maybe my walls and door were unusually thin. Regardless, it was like staying on a dorm floor.) My main issue, though, was that the room was SO. HOT. Even when setting the temperature as low as it could go (65 F), the unit continued to make my room even warmer, eventually reaching nearly 80 degrees inside. I had to open a window (in February) to cool down (which, of course, then made my room freezing cold after a few hours ...). If you're splurging for a bigger room or loft, maybe the sleeping experience will be as comfortable and cool as the lobby and dining experience. But overall, I was left feeling like I spent too much for a little. It was of no fault of the professional and kind staff, but something that could be addressed when making upgrades or describing and pricing rooms accurately.
