“The hotel location is excellent for access to town and beach. Not the hotels fault but the parking situation around the beach access areas are not good. Even finding a place is virtually impossible and if you do you are restricted to 3 hrs max.”

“Check in was very easy, the room was compact but okay for 1 night stay. We had our dog and our room was the furthers away from the main entrance or garden, so would have been better if we was a bit closer. breakfast was really good and the bar was well stocked and a great view from the bay window. would defiantly stay again.”

“Stayed in room 12A which had a nice view over the sea. Room was clean and modern - no a/c but a powerful fan had been placed in the room before arrival and the windows opened. Each member of staff was cheerful, polite and helpful. Breakfast was nice and value for money.”

“The staff was great, but the property needs some work. Our “bay view” was covered by scaffolding and absolutely filthy windows. Carpets were really shabby and the floorboards all creaked and were lumpy. ”

“I loved that old cottage and am glad it is in good use. It's nicely furnished and the village where it is situated is delightful. Two negatives were the dog smell in the lounge and poor state of plants in pots. While the dog smell is probably unavoidable as dogs are allowed, the dead plants brought about a depressing impression. Being a gardener, I tried to look after the remaining plants and had to transplant one huge heuchera plants that was literally hanging in the air as its pot was……

“We stayed in one of the Lodges. Very clean and well equipped. Plenty of tea and coffee supplies (decent quality not cheap), a great supply of Borders biscuits, and cleaning equipment including tablets for the dishwasher. Only problem was one of the bathrooms didn’t have a lock on the door. Our booking stated check out is 11:00 however the checkout for lodges is 10:00 with no opportunity to request a late checkout. We took a fan with us as wasn’t sure how hot the lodge would be but it was……

“Left stranded outside the hotel after staff forgot to leave keys, after confirming directly with the hotel manager that we would be arriving late. We never were able to use our reservation and did not stay after paying in full. I called earlier in the day to confirm, and they gave me the lockbox location and code, but upon arrival by taxi (after midnight) there were no keys in the box, leaving us alone outside with no car. I’ve requested a refund from the hotel but they have not responded - I……

“Welcoming staff and nice bedroom overlooking Fore Street (can be noisy with passing traffic). Pub food good. Plenty of car parking.”

“More coffee and milk in the rooms. 2 sachets of milk and coffee per day is miserly.”

“The location was brilliant. There was good equipment in the kitchen and the sitting room was comfortable with a great tv. Others have mentioned the water is a bit temperamental but it didn’t affect our stay. I think it could benefit from a deep clean. It wasn’t dirty but needed a bit more care. ”
