Arrived late Friday evening, no bother getting a table in the pub downstairs for food- they don't take table reservations, so I wasn't at a disadvantage. Good wide choice on the menu and attentive service.

“Farnley Tower is a very attractive building in a lovely location, easily walkable (but be aware that Durham is VERY hilly) to and from the city centre, the cathedral, and the castle/university campus.

“We stayed in room 102 (cosy room) a lovely little room over looking the gardens.
The room was clean and spacious with a walk in shower.
We had breakfast which was delicious , served by Rachel the hotel manager, she was bubbly and very approachable giving plenty of suggestions for our trip.
The hotel is normally busy but turned out we were the only guest for the evening which made for a peaceful stay (no complaints here)

Our room was very nice and clean. The shower over the bath could do with upgrading
