"The location and surrounding area is beautiful ,meals ere good and public rooms were very comfortable and well presented. The main issue and disappointment was that the area was a live building site as construction works were still being carried out on the Spa area, Construction traffic ,materials and staff were everywhere and this caused difficulties with parking and Hotel access when driving. The room we had was nice but the TV did not work properly and with no internet connection viewing...

"Yes, its an historic castle, but one that owns its current form to its restoration (from a ruin) in the early 20th century. We stayed in a Superior Room (1st floor) in the "Castle View" block - formerly the castle stables. Large, comfortable and very clean with a good bathroom. Perhaps a little too warm, but window and skylight open for ventilation. Although we did not choose the tasting menu, dinner was fabulous and wine by the glass excellent. Breakfast too was great (I particularly enjoyed the Craster kippers). All the staff we met during our stay were polite, helpful and friendly."

"It’s a bog standard hotels no frills dated never been refurbished since the last time I stayed there 20years ago can feel every spring in the mattress however didn’t bother me as I was pxxed so if you want just somewhere to get your head down while your out in the town this is your place to stay"

"We had a fantastic stay! Our “standard double” room was better than expected, comfortable bed, spacious, great bath and good water pressure in shower. The choice and quality of food both at breakfast and dinner was excellent, well priced and very tasty. Perhaps the stand out feature of the Beaumont is the staff, without exception..their friendliness and attention leant to a welcoming and relaxed stay."

"The room was clean. The decor was slightly tired, very little room for clothes, just a thin wardrobe. That said, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom excellent with a wonderful shower. Staff were friendly, helpful and were between them the highlight of our stay. Couldn’t ask for better. The bar served good wine, good beer (although they ran out of handpull) and the food was of a very high standard. To say compliments to the chef is an understatement. The hotel has lovely gardens worth a look round although on our three day visit, we were not allowed to go in them two days due to two weddings and the wedding guests get exclusive use of the gardens. I have to say that I was deflated once we had made a non refundable booking to get a message from the hotel saying there were weddings two out of our three nights but I can happily relate that other than garden access, the weddings were fully contained, did not affect bar or restaurant and we could not hear the music. Sharing with weddings is not an issue with this hotel."
