“Brilliant location, Everything about my break was superb. Including the weather. A 5 star location !! ”

“Do not stay here. Fire alarm went off in the middle of the night and the owner was incompetent - there was no apparent cause but for around an hour it kept tripping again so eventually I tried (without success) to sleep in my car. The hotel was dirty, no-one was available to help/serve breakfast etc, items such as milk in the kitchen fridge were out of date. It is a very old unmodernised property.”

“All of the staff are so friendly and welcoming. This is the third time we have stayed at the , " Duke of York". The rooms are always clean and well supplied and wonderfully quirky. The food is exquisite, good suppliers and a talented chef make any meal you order an absolute delight. The choice of beers and ciders definately hit the spot and are excellently kept. We will, without question, be looking to return for more stays regardless of the season because any time of year is great here.”

The room lacked a TV, but actually this was an absolute blessing and it made change not to reach for a remote control. Instead there was a DAB radio which was playing a soothing Classic FM when we entered our rather classy country pub hotel. Everything was to a very high standard in our room. We were even welcomed with a short, signed note on quality card wishing us personally, a warm and……

“The setting of this BnB is absolutely beautiful. Breakfast was perfect nothing fancy just exactly what you need, we specifically enjoyed the homemade rhubarb compote! The room was part of a converted barn and really cosy. The host was lovely. ”
