“All of the staff we came into contact with were friendly and helpful. We ate at the pub and the food was good sized portions and of a good quality. The breakfast was particularly good!
The room was quirky and of a good size.
Overall, we would highly recommend staying at the Hoops Inn.”
“A wonderful place to stay in Ilfracombe. Lorraine and Adrian were excellent hosts and very welcoming. My room and ensuite were great, with a view down over the town and towards the sea. Spotlessly clean.
There is a new terrace area for seating outside and they have retained the Honesty Bar downstairs with a range of beers, ciders, wine and soft drinks.
The breakfast area opens out on to the terrace and the Breakfast menu is truly amazing with a massive choice and ALL dietary needs catered for.……
“Welcome was great with a cup of tea. Very friendly. Beautiful quiet, rural farm setting. Pet friendly.
Totally suited our needs with easy access to Barnstaple, Instow, RHS Rosemoor.”
“Our 2nd stay at the Sailors Rest...Nice room with fantastic views & a huge king size bed... Great shower & mini fridge with fresh milk & water ...nice touch. Happy with our 1 night stay in Beautiful Appledore & hopefully will return to the Sailors Rest in the future.”
“Three things you need to run a great Bed and Breakfast. 1. A great host. 2. A great bed and room. 3. A great breakfast. This place has all three and is the perfect place for a short stay in Ilfracombe. Definitely recommended.”
“Have known this hotel for a number of years and it was one of the best in the area but now needing a facelift without spoiling its design. Lift inside needs upgrading, fixtures and fittings need upgrading. STAFF were lovely especially Carol in the lounge area, very kind and helpful. Pool and garden area lovely. Parking good but limited spaces. Receptionists friendly and helpful. Hotel is well situated for Bideford T
own and links to Westward Ho!, Barnstable, Instow and surrounding areas. Would……
“I originally stayed at this B&B about 20 years ago while walking the coastal path, & decided to return as the village was in an ideal place for our touring holiday. The steep driveway & smallish space made for tricky parking with a large car, but doable. Our room was clean & comfortable, if a little dated in style. The owners were welcoming & helpful.
Breakfast the next morning set us up for the day.
We had a meal in the pub near the beach, & took a stroll around the village.”
“Located on main road into Ilfracombe. 20 minute walk into the harbour area or use bus stop just up the road. Enough parking for one car per group.
Spacious, well-equipped room with comfortable bed, sofa, armchair, TV, coffee machine and kettle. Large bathroom with walk in shower.
Nice welcome, pleasant conversation, helpful owner.
Excellent breakfast with various choices.”
“Shower was great (if small) and the homemade shortbread was a nice little touch my son enjoyed as part of his breakfast.
The breakfasts were also really good. They were very flexible on items on the full English and the ingredients were good quality with proper sausages, thick bacon and thick slices of good bread.
The two women working there were great and the service was excellent though. They told another guest they only took it on last year and are doing it up but they need to either do it……
