Ranches in Hawaiʻi County

This place is amazing! If you're looking for a getaway from many other tourists, don't mind sharing a separate, common kitchen with some other folks, and enjoy some fantastic recommendations from your hosts, this place is for you. The suites are nicely apportioned and the hosts have thought of everything. We like to cook our own dinners in the evening as well as breakfast and this place suited us perfectly. We also hate crowds. The only crowds you'll have to deal with here are a few frogs in the...

Mango Sunset is situated on a hill in a lovely coffee plantation. It’s 15 or 20 minutes from town. The sunsets are amazing and breakfast in the morning with French pressed coffee is delicious! Heidi (host) makes her own sourdough! She and husband Dan are naturals at hospitality.

This was the most amazing place! The Place left me speechless and breathless. It was beautiful, charming and very comfortable. I wish I had stayed my whole trip at this place!!!! Michael was a very gracious host and the food he prepared was delicious. I give this place 10 stars!!

Booked this room thru Expedia 10 minutes before showing up at the place. We were warmly greeted by the owners and they assisted us in taking our luggage in. They let us chose between the 2 rooms they had available. They were amazing hosts. They offered us hot and cold beverages and snacks. They even drove us into town and dropped us off. The rooms and the views were gorgeous. Great breakfast in the morning and they even sent us away with fresh baked banana bread they made that morning when we...

Beach is not good. Very small swimming area. Lots of rocks even there. Need reef walkers. Hapuna beach state park is about 15 miles north of this hotel. That is a great beach.

We stayed in the Ohia Ranch Retreat room. This was easily the most beautiful room we’ve ever stayed in. The aesthetic of the stained wood beams, hard wood floors and furnishings was outstanding. There was a real attention to detail. The bed was also tied for the most comfortable bed we’ve slept in and reminds us that we have to replace our bed at home sometime soon. The surroundings were also beautiful and complete with fun farm animals including Lucy the goat, who never ceased to...

We stayed here for almost two weeks. Kelly was amazing. She was always whipping up different types of breakfasts. She was so cute and so talkative. Her food was really good. (If you are like me however, ask for pancakes or french toast or crepes) she loves to cook Mexican style breakfast but it didn’t always sit right with me. Then I told her about and she said, “well you should have told me earlier!” We both laughed. And it was excellent there after. Her place is very cozy and calm. I loved...

We had a great 1-week stay here. We enjoyed the many features: beach, fish ponds, pool, restaurants, and the room/view was great. The hotel is beautiful, the open architecture and focus on water throughout is very unique. We visited a couple of the nearby resorts/hotels we had considered when booking the trip and it made us feel that we made the right choice, best value especially considering the price. Also, a drastic difference between the crowds we encountered at the other resorts compared...

Such an incredible stay! Just returned and it was everything I wanted in our vacation. Such a relaxing resort, beautiful grounds, amazing rooms, two large pools, plenty of space to roam around, beautiful pond with ducks, bikes available to bike around, delicious food, an awesome gym, snorkeling right from the shore….I can go on and on! We were so sad to leave and wish the Rosewood Kona so much success. Part of me doesn’t want to see it get busy so it’ll always be as quiet as it was during our...

Blonde lady in the gift shop not friendly when checking in and out. She was talking to another male employee about other employees. Discuss business about training modules. Not friendly at all. Did not feel welcomed at all. In fact felt we we interrupting her day and she did not want to be bother with us. Spend a lot of money to stay her and was not welcomed. I wanted to purchase several items in the gift shop and passed.

We originally stayed at the Hilton Waikoloa village and were scheduled for 10nights. However upon arrival we were unimpressed and had a depressing feeling due to the run down nature of the hotel. It's hard to put a finger on it but felt like an old amusement park. My wife and I decided to tour other resorts. We drove to the Fairmont and we loved it. We also looked at the HapunaPrince and didn't really like it much. We switched our reservation to Fairmont and cancelled the remaining stay at the...

We had an awesome stay. We did not realize how big this resort was. I would definitely stay at Kingsland again. It offers easy parking. And it is nice and quiet where we stayed. And we had access to any other part of the resort. So it allowed us to be away from the main building, where the beach and luau were located. Because there are a lot of people staying at that location. So where we stayed, it was nice and relaxing. They have a shuttle that will take you anywhere within their resort. They...

My 5 year old son and I spent a week at the Hilton Grand Vacation resort. For us it was a great decision. With a car, we were two minutes to the Hilton Wailkoloa resort, and had full use of their facilities with free parking. If you plan to park yourself at the Hilton Waikoloa all day, then I can see where that may be a better option for some than the Grand Vacation. We were only a few afternoons at the Waikoloa lagoon, and spent everyday exploring the island. The pool at the Grand Vacation...

Great experience

Cute, cute!! A true relaxing, scenic gem. Came from a big resort to this - - a lovely contrast. Near the volcano tour/state park. No TV, but that is their philosophical charm. Nice homemade bkft., older/quaint, clean - would definitely return!!

Loved the profoundly peaceful location, could hike to and swim under beautiful waterfall on site. Only sounds were of nature. 4 miles from funky town of Hilo, which we also really liked. Perfect get-away-from-tourist-crowds Inn. Provides breakfast- could be improved with Gluten-free dairy-free breakfast option but good fresh fruit, waffles, egg souffle. Friendly staff but not overly so as in B&B where you have to make convo with owners. At night amazing views of stars, darkest sky I have ever...

very very good!
