“We stayed at Marley’s Retreat because we had some business to do in Newcastle. The cottage looks tiny from the outside, but once up the stairs we found a roomy but cosy front room and a luxurious master bedroom. The solemn wooden furniture in the big bedroom complimented the cottage/flat beautifully and is very classy as well as providing plenty of space for clothes. The bed is absolutely huge! I’m 5’10” and I touched neither the headboard nor footboard when I was sprawled out……

“Where to start, it was cheaper than most places in Newcastle but still wasn't worth what we paid. No air-conditioning, the kitchen drain smelled terrible, the toilet leaked, there were toenails in the bathroom, originally put in a two bedded room when there was 3 of us, very hot stuffy room, unable to open window properly as there was a chain lock preventing us. Beds were clean and fairly comfy.”

“Fantastic location. Ideal for what we needed but also really rural-feeling and peaceful. We found it quiet and charming. We enjoyed wandering in amongst the old orchard and down through the copse, across the scrubland that forms part of the floodplain of the Tyne. It was good to know there are badgers around although we weren’t lucky enough to see anyway. The dawn chorus was impressive. Very pleasant indeed. Definitely will book again if we’re back in the area. ”

“My wife and I stayed for two nights for our friends’ wedding in Whitley bay. Great seafront location and a lovely view. Perfect for our stay. Good communication from the host, easy to access, clean and nice apartment.”

“Very clean and organized, very close to things we went to but unfortuntaely it was was very noisy despite the complimentary earplugs. Great for people who plan to stay out late and enjoy the nightlife though!”
