“The room was very clean. Was a nice touch having biscuits on the tea tray. The staff were excellent. Special shout out to Michelle who made sure our stay was special. The breakfast was fantastic. Fresh fruit available. The hot stuff was good to perfection. We did have evening meals aswell which were also excellent and a great choice and really good value. Parking was available and if the car park was full, there is availability on the street”

The dinner we ordered was excellent and to order the best meal we had on our trip so far. Everything was locally sourced and made by Kayce herself. She was literally just a text message away. “Although the property is a bit dated it was well maintained. The bed was huge and really comfortable and I appreciated being able to have a bath with large soft luxurious fluffy white towels. The staff I encountered were friendly and there was a great choice at breakfast. Downsides were the shower was a bit weak and the WiFi only worked about 50% of the time.”

“Andrea was an excellent host, the pod was clean and well stocked with everything you could need to make your own meals. The bed was comfortable and the hot tub was an added bonus to relax after a long drive. Highly recommended! ”

“Very nice hotel, center of town, welcoming staff and the food was very good. Floors are a bit creaky due to buildings age. Thurso seems to be a stop for people going on to Orkney, but if i needed a base to see Caithness, i would stay at the Pentland. Single room reasonably priced.”
