“Staff were kind and friendly. Food was good in the bar but over priced. My room was grubby, the bedding and bathroom were clean but there was dust and dirt on the ledges and windowsills. No shower gel in the bathroom either. I was also above the kitchen there was lots of banging about outside and a constant humming/droning from what sounded like extractor fans. This did stop around 9pm but then started up again at 10pm. It was really quite loud, I could still hear it when I had my headphones……

“We had a very nice overnight stay at the Crown. Staff were kind & welcoming on arrival, the room was clean and comfortable and well appointed, we had dinner in the restaurant which was really nice, drinks were a big pricey but I guess that's hotel pricing. Breakfast was really good, freshly prepared and very tasty. All in all really good, the only minor negative was the dated bathroom in our room, however the shower was really good, powerful and plenty of hot water so, does that really matter? ”

“Not easy to find if you follow SatNav. Better to follow directions provided. Very pleasant situation in beautiful countryside. Staff were great, Room was good and reasonably comfortable but we fail to see how it qualified to be DeLux. Just little things would make a huge difference, For instance TV was mounted too high on the wall and therefore not comfortable to watch. Lighting was gloomy. Shower needed a grab rail being an over bath arrangement. Food was a bit of a let down, I……

“I couldn’t have been happier with my stay at the Old Deanery. Incredible location for the Cathedral, Hornblower, etc. My room looked directly onto the Cathedrà and was such a treat. Lovely comfy bed and the room was spotless. Delightful staff, who couldn’t do enough for you. Special shout out for Tom, who is just the nicest chap, but everyone was wonderful. The most beautiful breakfast with homemade breads and granola plus a fresh home cooked breakfast. I will absolutely be coming back……

“The room was very clean, as was the bathroom, bedding and towels. Lovely big double windows gives plenty of natural light. A big built in wadrobe/cupboard gave plenty of storage space for clothes etc. An iron, heater, fan and hair dryer were all provided. The only thing that could possibly be improved is maybe some extra milk, it wasn't too much of an issue as I was on my own. However, im sure if I had asked the staff would have been more than accommodating as they were all very helpful and……

“Our superior room was looking tired and we didn’t have all the amenities in our room that are described on this site ie slippers,robes,coffee maker,espresso - the listing needs to be updated as I believe we have been “missold” No lift and a lot of stairs to access our room Breakfast was not as good as expected - the cooked breakfast was poor, poached eggs were hard and there was only one choice of pastry on the continental buffet, only one choice of milk and only cubed sugar that you can’t……
