We often travel to Michigan to visit family and staying at St. John's Resort was on the wish list. This most recent visit we booked a couple nights of the trip. This particular weekend St. John's was dealing with two large wedding celebrations but staff were still available to us for questions. Their famous steakhouse was prohibitively expensive for us so we tried a small meal for brunch. The server was attentive to us and all the tables he was tending. The food was good but nothing exceptional. The room was immaculate and well stocked with supplies. However, compared to the Hilton we'd just come from this room was smaller. The best aspect of the room was the quiet HVAC system. We were not awakened by a noisy heating/cooling unit; this was completely quiet. The bed linens were OK (the standard for us was Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Virginia.). If you're picky about having a firm pillow. pack your own. St. John's pillows are medium firmness. It wasn't terrible, we just had higher expections and turned out to be just OK.

The property has a great location and very well maintained. The staff was very helpful at all times.
