“The team at the Royal Oak were fantastic from check in to check out. Freshly cooked tasty breakfast every morning and would definitely reccommend the sunday roast which was delicious. The team were very friendly and helpful throughout. The location was absolutely perfect!”

“The inn was okay and the staff were nice. Couldn’t sleep though which is the point of a hotel. Had a road facing room and could hear every single car as it sped by. Torture. The shower was also maybe the worst I’ve had in the last 5 years of constant travel. Felt like someone held a pinched hose over me and there was no water pressure at off peak shower times. ”

“Gorgeous property, staff were so lovely, lots of parking! Room and decor was lovely and we felt so at home. It’s a shame we didn’t spend more time on site. Breakfast was great, and the cafe was insane! Probably one of the best cafes in the county, if not country. We will definitely return. The choice to purchase local produce from the pantry was a nice touch too. We visited the area for business, but hope to come back in our spare time and stay again!”

“Comfy room, generous towels. Arrived late Friday evening, no bother getting a table in the pub downstairs for food- they don't take table reservations, so I wasn't at a disadvantage. Good wide choice on the menu and attentive service. There was a nightwatchman for after hours- what a treasure! He showed me how to access once the pub was closed, helped me empty the bags from the car and carried them to our room all with a friendly, nothing was too much trouble approach. “The general condition of the hotel is poor, old, tired and a bit scruffy. The rooms just about fit the bill, but the bathrooms are very small.
