“The room very clean and comfortable. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Good food and an excellent stay whilst visiting family nearby”

“We had a really lovely garden room with little private patio area which we loved. Overall the property is slightly dated but in all honestly we found it charming. The gardener keeps the grounds beautifully maintained and the food is absolutely superb. Will, the restaurant manager is amazing but all the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. There are a few negative things but tbf the positives far outweigh them so I'm not going to mention them apart from if you're less than fit the walk into……

“The beach was beautiful. The décor has a slightly shabby chic style, although some areas could do with updating. We only stayed for one night, but we would definitely come back again. The location is excellent.”

“This was not a hotel. It was a glorified airbandb. No staff...no bar or coffee shop. Disappointing...but it was clean and comgortable. I paid for a hotel though.”

“This was the culmination of a self-promise made 11 years ago. Then, we had afternoon tea on the patio, but can’t remember how we discovered Portloe. We said we should stay here if we ever visit Cornwall again. Fast forward to now; an unexpected opportunity to re-visit Cornwall. And it came to pass. Our stay did not disappoint- the quirky corridors to our room, the spectacular views from the windows, the bright and airy restaurant and the opportunity (again) to observe a lone fisherman working on……

“Perfect location, excellent value too”

“I watch a lot of hotel programmes so I'm a bit od a critic. Room was very clean and fresh. Friendly welcome and goodbye. Breakfast was nice. Great view of the hills and a short walk into the village”

“Absolutely fantastic, couldn’t fault our stay, owners are lovely, so friendly, so accommodating, location was fabulous, if you are a walker or have a car then popping into town or surrounding areas is simple, mobility issues not great as there are lots of hills.”

“The hotel and its setting are a great escape. The beautiful gardens make for an enjoyable stroll down to the mostly private beach. The room was very clean and tastefully decorated, and the beds very comfortable. We were allocated a room that was an upgrade from what we had booked, and even with it being a Ground Floor room it still had its own seating area (two in fact!). Had both breakfast and dinner in the restaurant during our stay and the food was great for both. Staff were friendly and……
