This picture was taken on the New River while I was out learning to fly fish with my father. The one thing that I really take away from this picture is how peaceful it is. I think that this represents the Appalachia region because for the most part this river has always been here. At one point it was someones way of catching food for their family, or a way for them to travel to different places down the river. But, today it was the river that let me enjoy time with my father without the distractions of technology or the busy world around us. This river will probably continue to be here long after we are gone, but one thing is for certain it will always be apart of Appalachia’s identity. #appalachianechos

"This house has been newly renovated and was very cozy for our family of 5. The location worked very well for all that we wanted to do in Boone and West Jefferson. Found some great spots for food including: Third Day Kitchen (great views and serene) and the Dough Shed (immaculate restaurant that had a fabulous, well stocked buffet even in late afternoon). We were there in a bit of a heat wave and did find the lack of central AC a little hard and the multitude of newly installed light switches...

"We spent 2 nights in this gorgeous property! Our daughter graduated from App State on Saturday at 9 AM. This location was ideal as it was a short drive to the convocation center yet away from the heavy traffic and crowded hotels in downtown Boone. With 3 bedrooms and 3 baths, there was plenty of room! We had a family brunch at the cabin after graduation, and the kitchen was completely equipped with everything we needed to cook and entertain. The pool table was a hit too!
