“While the property was clean, when we arrived and checked into the room, our room was so hot, you’d think, since they knew they were having people stay in this room, they’d turn on the air, but no. We had to turn on the air and leave for awhile. Thankfully, it cooled, but not a great start. And if your a person, like myself and my family, we don’t like to wake up to a bright room- the curtains were so thin, the room was so bright, we couldn’t sleep. So, definitely will not be returning.”

“No photos do the Grand Reserve the true justice it deserves as one of the memorable stays of mine for the past twenty years! The villa was perched in the middle of a vineyard, across a bridge in the rolling hills of Plymouth. We were checked in personally by Russ who had prepared a charcuterie board for our arrival in the room. The room was well appointed and comfortable, and views of vines from two directions. The common areas include a courtyard, large great room and beautiful patio area……

“Pool freezing & hike up a driveway. Grassy area was dead (picnic table under shady trees could’ve been great idea). Huge gap under door in room (bugs!). Very noisy on room closest to road (but ADA parking spot in front). No side table on 1 side of bed. Terrible lighting (lack of). Furniture placement not efficient. Bathroom very hot (even when room is cool). Not real sure about the choice in window coverings (?). TV and/or remote difficult to figure out. + Bed comfy + Decent $ + Gave……

“This place was amazing 10 stars! Very clean and welcoming lobby. Outside was very well maintained. A quick ride in the elevator to the second floor and wa-la, walked into a beautiful and inviting room. Could barely hear our neighbors TV, but the hotel was complete silence at 9pm. The best thing was the vending machine area had a washer and dryer a few steps from our hotel door, so i did a load of laundry which turned out beautifully. House keeping knocked on our door in the morning asking if we……

“Wonderful hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great location with easy walking access to Sutter Creek. The Element restaurant is also excellent. Each dish was prepared perfectly.”

“We were very disappointed in the condition of the hotel. Not like all the other Best Westerns that we have stayed at. The room was not especially clean, the TV didn't work and they had no one to fix it until the next day. I will be calling the manager to ask for some kind of compensation. We are Diamond members and expected a much better experience.”

“When we go to Sutter Creek we usually stay at the hotel Sutter and have enjoyed it. This trip however did't go near as well. Check in was fine, but the girl was a bit confused on some items, such as, that in the morning there would be muffins and things and coffee starting at 6am - didn't happen. As we were settling into our room a cockroach ran across the carpet (I did tell front desk). Wasn't clear where the ice machine was, but eventually found it. We didn't realize we were put in the room……

“A lot of the furniture was damaged or straight up broken. The shower head was leaking from the actual shower head (not the connection). The beds were horrendous - uncomfortable and felt unstable. There was hair all over the bathroom. The breakfast was okay, but almost zero gluten free options.”

“The property was in a secluded area that had a very rural feel to it. The grounds were beautiful and the cabin we stayed in was very comfortable. We were greeted by the caretaker, Patricia, and she was very informative and full of information about the property and surrounding areas. Also, met the owner, and he was very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely stay there again.”

“An hour after checking in and going to my room, I was advised that there was an additional $96 fee because my room had been changed from a king to two double beds. The king was unavailable. Felt like a down grade because it was on the first floor and could every step of the people above. Thanks to Expedia for fixing it and not making me pay the surprise charge.”
