"Carmel River Inn is so charming! Even though it has been renovated and modernized, it still has some of that quaint mid-century aesthetic, making it a unique and historic place to stay. We stayed in the hotel portion, and loved that we had a private balcony facing the Carmel River- very scenic! The proximity to Highway One has pros and cons. There's a little noise during the day, but it's very quiet at night. The hotel is at a nice crossroads, making it easy to access Big Sur as well as Carmel, Monterey and Carmel Valley. The staff was very friendly and helpful as well. We would definitely stay again!"

"This trip was well beyond our highest expectations. The home is gorgeous and very comfortable! Fantastic views from almost every room. The kitchen was very well equipped for cooking and baking. The location is spectacular, being within a quick walk to Point Lobos State Park and beach. The happy surprise was that the horse pasture butts right up to the deck of the house so we had friendly visits from two beautiful horses, close enough to pat and scratch them! "

"The house was a hit for our kids and their spouses. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were very comfortable. The view was amazing!The house sits up high in a nice neighborhood. Good daytime access, but dark at night. We had two little pups with us who enjoyed the back yard.The house was nicely located for day trips to Carmel, Monterey and Big Sur."
