Overall, we made the best out of our stay. The host communicated very fast. They are not in the area so there isn’t much they can do about pressing needs.
The house is beautiful and has so much potential. There are a lot of windows and about 1/3 of them had blinds. Which wasn’t that big of an issue until we realize we were being watch by someone. Not sure if it was a neighbor or someone from the area. But they were upset we (African Americans) were in there and basically said we were lost and used a couple racial slurs. So our last night was a little uneasy especially since there weren’t any curtains. The area has no outside lighting. You would need a flashlight to see. So we didn’t come outside due to not feeling safe.
I think the cleaners cut a lot of corners and again not the host fault considering they can’t oversea the house from the west coast. But there is a lot of dust and spider webs. You can see the mop streaks where they kind of just twirled the mop and kept moving. The dishwasher was pretty fifthy we just washed the dishes by hand even tho the host requested us to load it.
The bed lining was fine and the towels were clean. There is a surplus of ants and stink bugs. We ended up having to buy raid, it was pretty bad. Also I would assume the water system is on a septic tank so that’s something I would suggest the host test, because the water smelled like rotten eggs which typically means there’s a lot of sulfur in the water. The water wasn’t clear either.
