"Pros: Great location—easy to walk everywhere Quiet and relaxing atmosphere Small, charming boutique feel Friendly staff, most speak some English Light breakfast included (fresh fruit, juice, coffee) with additional menu options Cons: Felt “nickel-and-dimed” with extra charges Charged for a broken keychain attached to the room key Charged for a cracked glass that appeared pre-damaged Food stored in the shared fridge (mangoes and yogurt) was taken Breakfast is quite light unless you order additional items Summary: This is a quaint, well-located hotel that offers a peaceful stay and friendly service. However, the experience was somewhat diminished by unexpected extra charges and issues with shared amenities. With a bit more attention to guest fairness and security, this could be a much stronger stay."

"We had a room on the bottom floor. The noise from the rest of the building was quite loud. We could hear people and music from the restaurant next door, people stomping around upstairs and the street traffic was also quite loud. Additionally, there were a lot of mosquitos flying around with no fly wire on the doors and windows"

"Check in was supposed to be at 3, but staff said we didn’t have a reservation. Eventually, they found it, but then they said they didn’t have a room. Again, eventually, they said they had a room, but we had to wait for it to be cleaned. We waited until 4:30 to be given a room and the cleaning staff were still there. We had to stand outside in the heat most of this time, and I have health issues, so we decided to cool and go for a swim. I have a medical service dog that I have to take everywhere with me, or I risk seizures. My dog was by the pool with me and they insisted that my service dog could not be there. It is actually illegal and discriminatory not to allow service dogs in any place in Mexico. They made me take my dog to the room, so I only felt safe to swim for a few minutes more and then left. There is no air conditioning in the room, only a big fan that was very noisy, even in the loudest setting. No hot water in the showers, no water pressure. The tvs didn’t work. The room we were given was not the same as the room shown in the listing. The balcony doors didn’t lock, which felt unsafe. I was surprised how much was wrong with this apartment, despite that it seemed relatively new. Also, we were not given a key to the outside rear of the apartment where we were told to park, so got locked out and had to wait for someone to show up to let us in. We have stayed in many places in San Miguel de Allende over the years, this was one of the worst. "

"I would have had good things to say about this place if I had not been robbed whilst staying there. I understand that bubble tents cannot be locked but the hotel's assurance that it is entirely safe because it is in a secure compound is clearly false. (From a text message sent before arrival: "We are in a private area, with security provided by both the hotel and Valle de los Sanderos.") I am not accusing hotel staff but someone entered my bubble, opened a bag, found cash that I had hidden, and took 1000 pesos. I informed staff at reception but the hotel did nothing but offer a late check out, which I did not need or want. No apology or even a drink from the bar. So, until they take the obvious step of installing safes in the bubbles, I suggest you either avoid this place or keep ALL valuables with you at all times. Also, a check-in window of two hours (3-5pm) is absurd given the unusual nature of the hotel. Note also that the restaurant closes at 5pm so you will need to take a taxi or uber into town if you want to eat later - it's about a 15 minute drive into town. "
