8/10 Very Good! (1,006 reviews)
We had two rooms, and I initially asked the front desk employee if the total cost for both rooms could simply be charged to the card on file. I was told that there was no card on file, so I proceeded to use one of my debit cards to pay for the room charges.
When the employee then attempted to charge me the $150 deposit, I checked my other debit card because I needed to transfer additional funds to cover the remaining costs. While checking that card, I noticed that there were already two separate $150 charges from the hotel on that account.
I immediately showed the employee the charges on my banking app and explained that the two $150 deposits had already been charged to my card. Despite this, I was told that the hotel could not see the charges on their end and that I would still have to pay another $150 deposit.
I understand that there may sometimes be delays in processing or seeing transactions on a hotel’s system, but I had already provided proof that the charges had been placed on my account. I explained that I could not afford to have another $150 held or charged simply because the hotel’s system was not showing the transactions yet.
I am also still waiting to receive the 2 $150 deposit/authorization hold from my stay. Since I only stayed for one night, I expected the hold to be released after checkout, as is normally the case with these types of hotel deposits.
