“Breakfast was good with a very good choice of options ”

“The public rooms were in good condition but rather dated, reflecting the hotel's ostentatious history. The corridors and fire doors to the rooms were in poor condition, some damaged paint, wallpaper and carpet. The room was small and dated but clean with plenty of storage. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the breakfast offered a great choice. Whilst it is becoming increasingly common, as a hotel guest, I don't like paying extra to park my car.”

“Adult only hotel .parking was ok .The room was clean but standard for the price . Had robes and slippers, bottle of water and tea making facilities. Bed was very comfortable. Staff were very polite throughout the hotel Higher management in the bar should be more active if mistakes are made and not wait for a complaint to be made. The spa was really lovely, but had just too many people and we had to sit on the floor with drinks , which wasn’t relaxing.Needs a bigger sitting area or even……

“Sea view, huge room, huge bed. Nice bathroom, shower gel smelt nice. Nice complimentary drinks and snacks.”

“Bedrooms were a great size breakfast was very good and hot, the staff were exceptional. the plus side was the lift down to street level , had a wonderful stay in Torquay.”

“The hotel itself was lovely however for someone with chest problems the heating being on constantly didn’t help with the breathing and the beds were really uncomfortable ”

“The hotel was very good quality for the price staff were very polite and helpful, if you needed anything, the room was adequate for what I needed bed was comfortable got a couple of good nights sleeps old hotel and room showed it could do with updating And walls were very thin. I was very disappointed with the very small shower ok for petite people but well built people like me would struggle and did.Breakfast was very good could not fault it never tried the restaurant but the Bistro bars food……

“Great view from the room, which was very clean & comfortable, nice linen and a really good bed. I had a very enjoyable but brief stay, thank you.”

“The only positive is the location. The room was filthy with stains all over the floor, there was no cold water, both the hot and the cold tap were boiling hot. The toilet was blocked and had to unblock it myself. The shower basin didn't drain properly and so was stood in dirty water when showering. The mug had hairs in it. There were urine stains on the toilet. The whole hotel was just very outdated and dirty and I'm surprised it's still running.”

“We had two rooms and both were very Dirty room. No hot or warm water shower working. On asking staff they ignored me. ”

“We stayed for one night only and the reception was friendly. We bought a plug-in air freshener as the room smelt funky. The single bed was uncomfortable. Very noisy at night due to karaoke - but this was the summer in Paignton so I guess it’s normal. Hotel is near the main strip so very convenient. ”

“Hotel and room look a bit dated but room and bathroom were clean and beds were comfy. Reception staff cheerful and friendly. Only stayed overnight so cant comment on any other aspects of the hotel”

“Staff were all really nice, especially Ava our waitress. She went above and beyond. However there were a couple of waiters who did disappoint us. One forgot to put our breakfast order through, although he did apologise to us. The other one just seemed to ignore us and I had to go and ask at reception for a menu. Reception staff were all very friendly and polite. Overall would definitely go back there again ”
