“When we pulled up, we realized there was a downstairs tenant and I called the host and she said well depending on where you found the listing that can be very hard to find online. Then there was a a very bad odor, like it was not cleaned thoroughly at all. Then, as we described when we reserved it,we have small kids and small kids are not always perfectly still. Every floorboard in the house creaks really loudly and by 8 o’clock the next morning, the downstairs tenant was playing his music very……

“The property was WAY overpriced for the quality of the building/accommodations. $500 a night. It is obvious that hotel has been redone, trying to be more "upscale". Doors were lightweight and had a "cheap" feel to them. Room was clean, bed comfortable. Really need to invest in some better pillows--very small/lumpy. Breakfast was basic. Room temp. was comfortable.”

“The Gillen House is a perfect destination if you are looking for a relaxing and peaceful getaway that is close to Athens and not too far away from Atlanta. The hosts, Edward and Cynzia, were very welcoming and made us feel at home. The food at breakfast was excellent. Especially the steaks and sides that we had for dinner on our arrival evening. The room was spotless and perfect. We definitely enjoyed our stay!”

“It was very private and quiet and a secluded area. It was a clean, cute little place. Only thing that drove me crazy was the acorns that kept falling on the tin roof. Overall great stay!”
