The garden has an excellent view and is so peaceful to sit in. "We received a warm welcome from staff when we arrived. Our room was clean and spacious with a kettle to make hot drinks, you can also get unlimited coffee, tea, sugar and milk in reception which is useful. There was a large selection to choose from for breakfast, the cooked breakfast was all nice and warm. Parking is free but make sure you enter your car reg on the iPad in reception. This is our second visit to this hotel and we will visit again as it’s in a good location."

"Upon arrival we were advised that we had received a complimentary upgrade to a suite, which was lovely as we were visiting York for our wedding anniversary. Room was lovely and clean, the bathroom was huge and very clean. Hotel bar was very nice, lots of choice for drinks, lovely seating area with a great atmosphere. We also had breakfast great choices available, help your self tea and coffee and fruit juices. Novotel York is a great base for exploring the town, about 5-10 minute walk away, you can also walk alongside the river which is lovely. Would definitely recommend and we will be staying again"
