Eskdale walks from Eskdale campsite. A great place to pitch your tent. We took a 3km walk from the campsite, 1 1/2 hr moderate difficulty with a 20 Minute uphill ascent, through mine ruins and taking in a beautiful Tarn at the top.
A most beautiful place, tucked up along the Eskdale. Fantastic campsite, within walking distance of 4 great pubs and a an infinite list of hill walks.

Underwhelming. This is a very ordinary hotel, despite the hot tubs, pool and spa. The decor is vile, all dull browns with turquoise. In the “Troutbeck” room there is a nasty trip hazard into the bathroom. A stubbed toe was annoying but a cracked skull would have been more so. Tip: if it’s not fixed ...
